What is Truth?

What is truth?

Is it created by what we think? Is it something decided by a majority? Is it something formed behind a pulpit? Is it something self-existent?

Truth is something entirely independent of our thinking, our will, and our desires. On the other hand it is forever bound with God’s will and desires. Before all else He was, and still is. His word is unchanging and completely trustworthy.

Is the whole entirety of God’s will and desire compressed and bound into the thousand page Bible? The answer may surprise you. Truth is bigger than the Bible, but the Bible is what we need to know, until his Kingdom is once again established on earth as it was in the Garden.

So when it comes to truth, we really don’t get to make the calls. We can be uncomfortable, or happy and rejoice, or ignorant and complacent, it doesn’t change the truth.

How about when reading the Bible? It’s truth, but how do we know whose truth? Who gets the final decision on what the Bible means? Who should have the final vote?

At the first coming the teachers of the law, the Bible experts of the day, were pretty sure that they had the authority and the truth. But then a homeless man called Jesus said he was the only one who had the real truth. Hmm… the teachers of the law were very educated and had many congregation members in their synagogues. So why do we read the New Testament and agree with Jesus instead of the religious leaders, the Pharisees and Sadducees, from the first coming?

true-false

Jesus testified to what he had seen and heard, but no-one accepted his testimony (Jn 3:32). Jesus had the word from heaven, the word from God. He came from heaven (Jn 3:14) and had witnessed (seen and heard) everything from God. That definitely grants authority, after all, who knows God’s word better than God? If you could choose between accepting the false testimony from the teachers of the law (false because they were not the ones who saw, heard, or received it), or the true testimony from Jesus (sent from God, Jn 3:34), which one should you choose? If you choose the wrong one does that change the truth? We see in the gospels that the teachers of the law were wrong no matter how much they refused to see it.

How about in these days? Perhaps this a sensitive subject. Maybe you have a favorite pastor you like to listen to, or a comforting Bible commentary that eases your questions. As wonderful and knowledgeable as these people may be, have they been to heaven and seen and heard the fulfillment of the promises in the New Testament?

Maybe that seems unrealistic, but the promise is in your Bible too (Rv 1:1-3, Jn 16:14-15). It promises that there will be only one who knows. Is your pastor that one from heaven who can explain the entire Bible perfectly? Not mostly correctly, but perfectly correctly. Correctly according to the rest of the scripture. Remember, we don’t decide what is true. For our sake we should certify that God’s word is truth (Jn 3:33).

Jesus promised that the Spirit of Truth in the Counselor would lead us into all truth. It is the time that this is being fulfilled. Will you humble yourself and listen and see if it is correct according to all the Bible or will you miss it, like the teachers of the law at the time of the first coming?

seek-truth“Though I have been speaking figuratively, a time is coming when I will no longer use this kind of language but will tell you plainly about my Father. In that day you will ask in my name. I am not saying that I will ask the Father on your behalf. The Father himself loves you because you have loved me and have believed that I am from God.”
~John 16:25-27

Let us believe in the one God has sent today, and believe what is being spoken plainly. Please hear the words of the promised pastor, Mr Man Hee Lee, who is testifying about the fulfillment according to Scripture, and judge for yourself whether this is God’s truth or man’s teachings.

New Leather Boots

I read this on ShinchonjiUnmasked and really wanted to share it.

There once lived a poor boy, and though he was poor, it was no fault of his own. His father had been poor, his father’s father had been poor, and his father’s father’s father had been poor.

Upon his feet the poor boy wore tattered sandals held together with bits of cloth and twine. One day a traveling messenger gave him a pair of leather boots, new and sturdy.

With joy, the child pulled on the marvelous boots. But after a short while, the unfamiliar leather began to rub, and blisters formed on the boy’s feet. In pain, he pulled the gifts from his feet. In anger he cast them away. And with a smile he tied the old tattered sandals upon his feet once more. For though the new  was better, the old and familiar was more comfortable.

The messenger, watching unseen, sighed with sadness.

5 Little Questions

Here are 5 questions from ShinchonjiUnmasked that we, as God’s children, shouldn’t have too much trouble explaining or answering.

You are welcome to share your thoughts or answers in the comments below.

Questions

  1. Why do you believe in Jesus?
  2. As Christians, what is our covenant?
  3. Have you been harvested? (Mt 13:24-30; Rv 14:14-16)
  4. Have you been “sealed”? (Rv 7:3-4)
  5. Have you added or subtracted any words, facts, understanding or fulfillment from the Bible? (Rv 22:18-19)

But even if you should suffer for what is right, you are blessed. “Do not fear what they fear; do not be frightened.” But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect, keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander.
1 Peter 3:14-16

Testifying to the Truth and Shinchonji

Members of Shinchonji have been coming out and writing their testimonies to be shared with the world. This one particularly caught my attention:

Shinchonji Unmasked: Member’s Exposed, “Testifying to the Truth and Shinchonji”

Here are more testimonies written by many different Shinchonji members.

“These members are from different countries, different cultural backgrounds and different previous religions and beliefs. Despite our differences we are members who have firmly found our hope and truth in the teachings of Shinchonji, delivered to us by the one who overcomes as promised in the book of Revelation, Mr Man-Hee Lee. With the word as our anchor and absolute standard, we have heard, and verified every word that has been spoken, so now intend to testify according to the truth.”
